Work with policy makers
We want to make integrated health a reality by raising issues at the highest levels of policy and decision-making.
We primarily work with the governments and devolved administrations in
Westminster, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our work is also aimed at
people who influence policy makers, such as the media, the general public and
other stakeholders.
We have just
completed work with local agencies in Cornwall to develop pilots for integrated
health centres in secondary schools. FIH will continue to be involved in the
monitoring of these new projects and in plans to create a similar centres
in Burnley.
We advised the
Department of Health in Northern Ireland on their ground-breaking pilot to
make some complementary therapies available to patients with particular
conditions on the NHS. (Find out more about the outcomes here).
We are committed to spreading good
practice from our integrated health awards - allowing organisations from PCTs to
grassroots groups to highlight and spread successful models. Explore our
database of excellent projects here.
Through our Foundation fellows scheme we have access to leading clinicians, researchers and healthcare workers who are able to clearly articulate the importance of integrated health and make the case with a robust background of evidence and real life experience.
