Parents warned over allergy remedies

In new guidance to NHS staff and patients, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has warned that ‘high street’ allergy tests are inappropriate for children suffering from eczema.
The tests were considered to be largely ineffective, often yielding false results.
The health watchdog also advised that caution should be exercised when using complementary therapies and food supplements in children with eczema.
