Integrated health awards

New categories for this year’s national Integrated Health Awards mean more opportunities than ever before to showcase your service or project. What’s more, our nine winners will be invited to take part in the Lord Mayor’s Show in London, November 2010 – and attend an Integrated Health Masterclass in September.

Our new Lifecycle Awards will cover: (i) Pre-Natal, Birth & Early Years; (ii) School Age & Teenage; (iii) Working Life; (iv) Older People; (v) Palliative Care.

The special Awards introduced last year for the Best Primary Care Trust and the Best Practice Based Commissioning Group are open again this year.

Short-listed entries for all seven of these categories will automatically be entered for the overall Country Awards: one each for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with the chance to win a generous cash prize.

But that’s not all. In addition we have the Survivors’ Award, celebrating success and longevity and open to all finalists of previous Integrated Health Awards.

For the first time, we are also offering a Student Essay prize, open to all members of the Foundation’s Student Network which includes medical, allied health and integrated health students.

All winners will receive two free places for the National Integrated Health conference, to be held in London 8th July 2010, two places at an Integrated Health Masterclass, Devon September 2010, and an invitation to take part in this autumn’s Lord Mayor’s Show in London.

Full information about this year’s Awards is available on our website: www.fih.org.uk

Dr Michael Dixon, the Foundation’s medical director, said:

'By shining a spotlight on the very best projects and practitioners, we hope to encourage the spread of integrated health.

'Our previous winners have included exceptional projects that support cancer sufferers, the very old and the troubled young. Some have treated the ills of the body. All have reached the hearts and minds of their users. They have included small voluntary groups, large charities and innovative NHS services.

'If you are providing an integrated service that addresses unmet needs or health inequalities. don’t hesitate. Start preparing your entry now.'
