Dear Colleague,
In this issue we talk to Dr Tracy Gaudet about her work at Duke Integrative Health Center in the US.  She directs an integrated practice with stunning architecture and gardens, and an approach which embraces food, mindfulness, complementary approaches and orthodox medicine.
Professor Elizabeth Bishop continues the architectural theme, explaining her own research around building for wellness.  She describes how the disastrous high-rise projects of the sixties turned many architects off 'social architecture' - but argues that with proper research, architects and urban designers can create healthy neighbourhoods.
As the pollen count rises, Professor Stephen Holgate explores the mechanisms that make us one of the most allergic nations on the planet and explains why he thinks an integrated approach is the best way to address the problem.
We've reintroduced regulation news to our site, a round-up of work and comment about regulation in healthcare.  We also describe our own plans for regulation work over the next two years.
Our next round of Integrated Health Awards will be announced in a couple of weeks.  We'll be telling you about the details and how to apply in the June issue of this newsletter.
