Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council register goes live in January
Look out for the tick – the CNHC mark of quality.
The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) register goes live in January 2009.
During 2009 a range of complementary heath professions will form Profession Specific Boards and members of those professions who meet the CNHC standards will be become eligible to apply for registration with the CNHC. Massage and nutritional therapists are ready to register, to be followed shortly by aromatherapy. Other professions will be identified on the CNHC web site during the year as they become eligible for registration.
All those who meet the CNHC standards will receive the CNHC tick – this is the assurance of quality for professional complementary healthcare practice.
The CNHC tick will confirm - whether a member of the public, another healthcare practitioner or a practising complementary health practitioner – that those on the CNHC register are appropriately qualified to practice.
Look out for the tick.
Note to editors
The CNHC – The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council was launched by Health Minister Ben Bradshaw in March 2008. Since then the appointed Board of lay members have spent their time setting up the organisation, preparing policies and establishing the register.
