Wellspring Healthy Living Centre
A GP surgery embedded in a community centre offering everything from cookery classes to salsa to complementary therapies and art classes.
Wellspring locates G.P.s, dentists, health visitors, health trainers and pharmacists in the same building as a community-run health organisation, providing residents with an integrated and responsive health and wellbeing service.
Services include a teaching kitchen to train young people and those on special diets to create healthy meals, exercise and dance classes, art and complementary therapies. A constant cycle of funding applications and wider alliances allow this high end service to be provided either free or at rates that the local population can afford.
