The Allergy Industry
With limited support for allergy on the NHS, except in very serious cases, a booming alternative market has grown up for those who are, or think they are, allergic to various substances.
There's a range of tests from kinesiology to vega tests to ‘Ig’ tests to see if their clients are allergic to a particular substance. None of these interventions have been conclusively tested for effectiveness. The public may not realise that none of these tests provide a definitive answer, and some have been proven ineffective. There's a risk that people may embark on very restrictive diets, further undermining their health.
